When it comes to family celebrations, especially something as special as a 3 años party, we love to go all out with our creative touches. This time, for my little cousin Adelyn's Beauty and the Beast-themed party, my Madrina came up with the most gorgeous DIY idea that brought everything together: custom mirrors and customized roses. Here’s how we did it and how you can recreate this look for your next special event!
Materials:
- Hand Mirrors
- Roses
- Gold Spray Paint
- Red Vinyl
- Cutting Machine ( Cameo or Cricut)
- Transfer Tape
Step 1: Spray Painting the Hand Mirrors Gold
The first step was transforming the simple plastic hand mirrors into something magical
We started by laying the mirrors on some newspaper outside and giving them a couple of coats of metallic gold spray paint. This instantly gave them that royal, elegant look that fit the Beauty and the Beast theme perfectly.
Pro Tip: Make sure to spray the mirrors in light, even coats and allow each coat to fully dry before applying the next. This will help avoid drips and ensure an even, smooth finish.
Step 2: Customizing with Vinyl
Once the mirrors were dry, we moved on to the fun part: customization! We cut out Adelyn’s name in a beautiful red vinyl using a cutting machine. The red contrasted so well with the gold, creating a striking look that made each mirror truly perfect. To apply the vinyl, we used transfer tape to neatly place the names onto the mirrors without any fuss.
Step 3: Adding Vinyl to the Roses
We didn’t stop at just the mirrors! We took the roses and added Adelyn’s name to them as well, tying the entire Beauty and the Beast theme together. The personalized roses were an elegant touch, and they were scattered across the tables and throughout the party decor. They added a personal touch that had everyone talking.
The Final Product
In the end, the gold mirrors and personalized roses were a huge hit, and they really made the party feel extra special. These DIY elements were not only beautiful but also meaningful because they were handmade by family.
